From tea tales and whisky wisdom to vineyard journeys, here’s what’s coming up at Cooke’s.
1. The Art of Tea with Dilmah’s Tea Master, Dilhan Fernando

A high tea unlike any other.
Join us for an afternoon steeped in elegance and discovery, hosted by none other than Dilhan Fernando—Tea Master and son of Dilmah’s founder. This is your chance to enjoy a specially curated high tea menu paired with exceptional Dilmah teas, while learning about the art and science of tea from one of the world’s leading voices in the field.
From the lush tea plantations of Sri Lanka to the teacup in front of you, Dilhan will take you on a sensory journey. You’ll even explore the magic of tea and food pairings—and perhaps a tea-inspired cocktail or two.
Each guest will leave with a gift from us and Dilmah, as a token of this truly unique event.
2. Thomson Whisky Degustation Night
Saturday 26 July 2025 | 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm | $150 per guest
If whisky is your thing—or if you’re curious to learn—this is an evening not to miss.
Hosted in collaboration with Thomson Whisky, this one-night-only event features a course degustation menu designed to be shared, with every dish paired to showcase the bold character of New Zealand’s finest drams.
The experience begins with a refreshing welcome gin cocktail before diving into two premium whisky tastings and one signature whisky cocktail. You’ll be guided by the owner of Thomson Whisky himself, who will share personal stories and expert insights into the world of whisky making.
Whether you’re a connoisseur or simply adventurous, this evening promises unforgettable flavour and fantastic storytelling.

3. Passage Rock Wine Pairing Night
Saturday 30 August 2025 | 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm | $140 per guest
Waiheke Island comes to the heart of the city.
Experience the excellence of Passage Rock, Waiheke’s most awarded winery, in a relaxed and refined evening of food and wine. This five-course menu has been carefully matched with wines that highlight the depth and craftsmanship of this celebrated vineyard.
Hosting the evening is Johnny Evans, Sales & Operations Manager at Passage Rock, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and a genuine love for the grape. Expect stories from the vineyard, generous pours, and dishes that complement each wine to perfection.
It’s a chance to experience the taste of Waiheke—without the ferry ride.
